I put a lot of thought into becoming a wedding officiant. I do not call myself a minister. I prefer to be called an officiant or a celebrant. I simply decided to become a wedding officiant through the Universal Life Church which is not a church in the physical sense. They simply have (as I do) " firm beliefs, a guiding creed, and a large community of members who can carry out a mission every day", in this case that I will perform weddings. Here are some questions people often ask about the Universal Life Church
So, September 2018, I answered the why not become a Maryland wedding officiant"? I have always worked in careers that helped others. I love writing and placing the two together it is also a chance to help others create and write a celebration of love. Since I am the type of person (the oldest of four) I am the one who is different. I just must do things that are non-traditional, the one who thinks outside of the box so to speak. So, helping couples who just want to celebrate and create their story about their found love in an "outside of the box" way is exactly why I am here at this point a wedding officiant.... who is ready to help, guide two people to a point in their lives to celebrate their love for each other?
Just the very idea of a celebration is fun, joyful and relaxing and should entail your values, beliefs and traditions
As a wedding officiant whether the ceremony is just the couple and their witnesses or one hundred people in their chosen place, I will be proud to know that I helped them begin their journey and to profess their love in the way that they chose to do so.
Why do you believe more couples are choosing to celebrate their love in an nontraditional way?
